Ralph Nader continues his quest to be allowed in to the presidential debates.
His latest campaign features a variety of celebrities, including Sean Penn, Val Kilmer, Nellie McKay, and Brooke Smith. He's unlikely to succeed, as he'll need to reach 15% of the vote in national polls to be invited. The last independent to be invited was Ross Perot in 1992, and he failed on the follow up attempt in 1996.

Any third party candidate that has a mathematical opportunity of winning the electoral college should be included in the Presidential debates. The CPD's #3 criteria is both capricous and arbitrary.

I agree wholeheartedly, although I prefer the term "minor parties". ( In size, not significance of course) I recommend lobbying the media for such a sane and inclusive standard. I believe that Google is entertaining some ambition to host a debate.Sharing with others that they will have to answer polls stating that they intend to vote for a candidate in order to see them in the debates may help the poll numbers. Also check out http://citizensdebates.org . Pease, everyone share any specific actions that can be taken to advance openness in media coverage for all ballot qualified candidates.
Sorry, it's http://citizensdebate.org
